Corrections Policy

Accuracy is this site's entire value, so we treat error reports as a priority.

Reporting an error

Use the contact form (subject: "Report an error or correction") or email [CONTACT EMAIL], ideally with the page address and, if possible, a link to the official source showing the correct information.

What happens next

  1. We verify the report against the current official GOV.UK or nidirect source.
  2. Confirmed factual errors are corrected promptly — normally within 3 working days of verification — and the page's last-reviewed date is updated.
  3. Where a correction is significant (a rule, fee or deadline was wrong), a note of the correction is added to the affected page.
  4. We reply to the reporter with the outcome where contact details were provided.

Out-of-date content

When official rules change, affected guides are updated as described in the editorial policy. If you spot a guide that lags an official change, report it the same way — it is treated as a correction.
